White Christmas in Pigeon Forge!

East Tennessee doesn’t get too much snow, so it’s a pretty big deal when there’s talk of a white Christmas.  This year,  it wasn’t all talk, we ended up seeing a lot of snow all across East Tennessee!  Most, if not all of Sevier County had snow on the ground.  There was around 2 inches around most parts of Pigeon Forge and Sevierville.  Gatlinburg and the National Park saw a little more.  The Sugarlands Visitor Center reported 2 – 3 inches of snow and 3 – 5 inches in the mountains.  Not only was the snow on the ground Christmas morning, but kept coming down all weekend!  There was steady snowfall throughout Christmas day, night and throughout the day on Sunday.  The totals for the entire weekend are as follows: Sevierville, 4 inches, Gatlinburg and Sugarlands Visitor Center, 6 inches, Cades Cove, 8 inches and Mount LeConte, 12 inches.

We were very lucky to have a white Christmas in Pigeon Forge and Sevier County.  The weekend snow was a fun and festive addition to the Sevier County area’s holiday weekend!  We hope you were safe and warm wherever you may have been this Christmas weekend.
