Fall Foliage Update

The leaves are changing very nicely here in Pigeon Forgeand we couldn’t be more excited about the beauty that is currently surrounding us.  The highest elevations may be just a little bit past peak and it is said that portions of the mountainsides in the 3,500 – 4,000 elevation range are at full peak color.  The colors are fantastic right now in the lower elevations, we’re still seeing some green mixed in with beautiful reds, yellows and oranges.  Today we’re starting to see the beginning of a colder temperatures that are forecasted for our area and these lower temps should intensify the colors over the next week or two.

There are some great viewing spots in the Smokies that are reaching their peak quickly, if you’re in town this week or weekend be sure to take a drive or a hike through some of these spots.  Cades Cove and the Foothills Parkwaywill be great drives, Cades Cove is great for hiking and biking as well. A few suggested hikeswould be, Baskins Creek Falls, Little River, Sugarlands Mountain and Low Gap.

It’s still not to late to visit us in the Smoky Mountains for a beautiful fall vacation!
