As of August 19 a new beer ordinance has been passed where consumers can enjoy a beer with their meal on an outdoor patio at Pigeon Forge restaurants. Before the passing of this ordinance Pigeon Forge restaurants could serve beer inside but not on their outdoor patios. The owner of Big Daddy’s Pizza in Pigeon Forge said he would have customers complain, tell him he was lying and even get up and leave. This law might sound a little ridiculous to those who have never heard of such but to a lot of Pigeon Forge residents that was just the way they liked it.
The ordinance has taken effect but don’t expect to get a beer on a patio today. This will take a while for all the Pigeon Forge restaurants to implement. They will go through an application process, each patio will be inspected and must pass all the restrictions.

Pi Beta Phi Elementary is hosting the 2nd annual 5K run/walk to benefit the elementary school on September 24. Each participant will receive a tshirt and goody bag for the race and all registered children who complete the race will receive a medal at the finish line. Registration will begin at 7 am and the race will begin at 8 am.
The course will start at the school, you will run Hwy 321, turn left onto Mills Park Road, right onto Ogle road, turn around, run Mills Park Road and the partial loop around the track to the finish line. There will be one water station half way through the course and there will be refreshments after the race for all participants.
