Salute to Heroes with the Tennessee Smokies

Come out the the annual Salute to Heroes Smokies Basball games for a evening of fun and to salute our fallen heroes, their families, and our veterans and active-duty military on June 30, 2012. There will be free admission for all veterans and active duty military (must present credentials upon entry). The memorial ceremony begins at 5:15 p.m. and the first pitch is at 6:15 at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, TN. The Tennessee Smokies will take on the Birmingham Barons.

Salute to heroes event pays homage to America's fallen heroes and their families with a pre-game memorial program while saluting our veterans, active-duty, reserves, and guard members for their service. There will be a warbird flyover, a three-volley salute, a motorcycle honor guard, presentations to Gold and Blue Star families, and a POW/MIA Flag Ceremony. Also, Purple Heart recipients will be honored pre-game.

Also during the game the Smokies are welcoming some of the most popular professional entertainers of the season, the ZOOperstars, on the same night between innings of the game. It will be a great night for children to learn the importance of respecting and remembering our military heroes, followed by a full slate of entertainment between the ZOOperstars and baseball action on the field!
