For the ardent skiers, Ober Gatlinburg has a Bavarian theme and sits atop the mountain peak with nice trails and beautiful chalet rentals. They also offer snow tubing and an olympic-sized ice skating rink. Skiers and non-skiers enjoy riding the aerial tram. When the sun goes down, there is an abundance of cozy cocktail bars in Gatlinburg. Karaoke fun is also popular throughout the town. Gatlinburg's space needle is a hot spot for psychic shows that are enjoyed by all.  Pigeon Forge theaters and dinner shows provide live comedy, religious themes, and country shows by famous performers. Kids have multiple chances to meet jolly old St. Nick at Gatlinburg's elaborate and magically lit Christmas Parade. Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Townsend hold the more traditional homespun parades that feature marching bands, twirlers, and floats crafted by local non-profit groups. Each town coordinates its Christmas parade date, so that visitors can be sure to see every parade.

Look up at any moment to marvel at 16 spectacular mountain peaks with elevations above 6000 feet. The top three are Clingmans Dome (6,624 feet) Mount Guyot (6,621 feet) and Mount LeConte (6,593 feet). Mt. LeConte is the most prominent of the majestic peaks of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Driving hazards are increased by natural weather conditions throughout the winter season.
